In other words you start a timer and then have it hooked up to call something with a signal when it finishes, instead of checking every frame if it's running or not. Personally I think timers are mostly useful when used as sources for signals. I think this is almost certainly completely pointless as no human will probably ever notice these small differences, but it should be more accurate, I think. Unless I've made an egregious error in this untested code off the top of my head, the player should end up in the same place regardless of how many frames occur as on the last frame you're moving the player at dash speed for true remainder of the timer, and then moving them further still at regular speed for the remainder of the frame delta time. Velocity = direction * dash_speed * dash_proportion + direction * normal_speed * remainder Var dash_proportion = (elapsed - dash_duration) / delta If you need super accuracy, count the frame delta yourself and proportionally apply the speed based on how much the current frame overshot your timer count. Repeated neglect of these can be a bannable offense.Ģ - Check for duplicates before writing your own postģ - Concrete questions/issues only!
